Inside Small Biz Members See Growth Through New List Service
Lancaster, PA (PRWEB) July 23, 2008 -- Inside Small Biz recently announced a new service for its members who are Small Business Owners that will give them a distinct advantage when it comes to e-mail marketing campaigns, prospect communications and data collection through surveys.
Members of this national Small Business Owner organization can now tap into a variety of databases and have a list customized for them, giving them the ability to reach new markets for their products and services.
"We were able to drive thousands of new customers to our website," said Hall Hitzig, owner of The Crazy Baker, located in Renick, West Virginia and a member of Inside Small Biz. "Because of the resources that Inside Small Biz offers to us, we're able to extend our reach beyond what we imagined."
The Crazy Baker creates luscious desserts and confections in the premium gourmet market as well as a healthy granola product line. "We're just starting a push into retail with The Crazy Baker Granola," said Hitzig. "The response to our granola has been very good and we're counting on Inside Small Biz to help get us there through their retail lists and contacts."
"The 40-40-20 formula for successful direct marketing holds true for e-mail marketing as well," notes Kae Wagner, president of Inside Small Biz. "Forty percent of successful campaigns depend on the quality of your list, forty percent depends on your content and your offer and twenty percent depends on the creative, packaged part of the e-mail."
Wagner works with Small Business Owners to grow their businesses by using various technologies, one-to-one consultation and peer groups to help the members of Inside Small Biz grow their companies.
"The Small Business Owner wears so many hats that he never gets to the job of managing his list or database." Wagner notes that compiling a database for her members has been an ongoing and rigorous task. "Without good lists, our Small Business Owner members just wouldn't be able to reach new customers and prospects," said Wagner. "Without continuous promotional activities directed to the right markets and buyers, small businesses lose momentum and their growth slows."
Wagner offers several tips for Small Business Owners who want to increase the value of their lists.
"Your best data comes from what you collect yourself - on your website, through
e-newsletters, business cards from networking events and other people that you meet in a variety of situations. However, that is a slow way to build a list," acknowledges Wagner, "and you could miss a lot of opportunities by building your list so slowly.
"Make sure you have an opt-in list," adds Wagner. "An opt-in list is one where the people on the list have agreed to receive information relative to your type of offering. That way, you're not spamming them."
Wagner notes that marketers need to make unsubscribing easy, according to CAN-Spam laws. Small Business Owners would do well to learn CAN-Spam regulations when they start using e-mail as a marketing tool.
Inside Small Biz's new list service will give members access to lists that are very targeted for their offerings. "One of the best services we realized that Small Business Owners need is this list service as part of their membership. As an organization, we've taken on the work of building lists on behalf of our members so they have access to target markets that previously would not have been available to them.
"Without access to a good, solid list," states Wagner, "Small Business Owners can't gain traction on their marketing and promotional activities. If you don't have a growing list of prospects to introduce to your offering, your growth will be much slower."
